{"id":3604,"date":"2025-07-30T14:02:58","date_gmt":"2025-07-30T14:02:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/medicservicesinternational-com.stackstaging.com\/?page_id=3604"},"modified":"2025-07-31T13:18:36","modified_gmt":"2025-07-31T13:18:36","slug":"emergency-first-aid-at-work","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/medicservicesinternational.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/30\/emergency-first-aid-at-work\/","title":{"rendered":"EMERGENCY FIRST AID AT WORK"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(LEVEL 3)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Where an organisation\u2019s risk assessment of First Aid needs identifies that there is a requirement for Emergency First Aid at Work practitioners, &nbsp;then this national Award in Emergency First Aid at Work satisfies the requirements of the regulatory body for First Aid \u2013 the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All learners will have the skills and knowledge to provide the organisation with Emergency First Aider\u2019s that can provide treatment to their casualties in a prompt, safe and effective manner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Duration<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A minimum of six contact hours in the classroom, consisting of practical and theoretical activities, plus some pre-course activity could be required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Syllabus<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A range of subjects are covered including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Responsibilities and reporting<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Resuscitation and AED awareness<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Burns<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assessment of the situation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Anatomy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choking<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dealing with an unresponsive casualty<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Minor injuries<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Epilepsy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Basic hygiene in First Aid<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bleeding control<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shock<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Certification<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Assessment is ongoing by the instructor, along with a multiple choice question paper, and a three-year qualification will be issued to those who satisfy the criteria. In addition, the HSE strongly recommend that all students undergo an annual refresher programme of three hours,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Numbers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A maximum of 12 students are allowed and must be a minimum of 14 years of age and a certificate can be offered to all, subject to assessment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A student cannot assume a responsibility in the workplace until they reach the age of 16, and then it is the employer\u2019s responsibility to ensure that the student is suitable for that role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The certificate will expire as dated on the certificate, irrespective of age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Location<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are able to deliver this course on your site, reducing your costs in respect of additional time out and travelling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">READY TO KNOW MORE?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you want to know more about our Emergency First Aid at Work&nbsp;course?
